Middle School Academy for Health Careers

MSAHC (Middle School Academy for Health Careers) is a three part exposure program for 7 th through 10th grade students.  Launch in 2005 in partnership with Intermediate School 49 in Staten Island, this program provides students with a two-day hands-on experience  of different health professions.   Students tour various health care facilities  and receive brief overviews of what takes place, which health professionals works there, their education, background and how much they earn. Students experience hand-on with some of the equipment and machines. After the two days, students are required to submit group projects related to the health professions they learned, and present to their peers.

Since its conception, MSI AHEC has brought this experience to nearly eighty I.S. 49 students.

If you represent a school or health care facility and interested in participating in our MSAHC program, please call our office at (212) 534-2432 for more information.
